Meanwhile, a solo homer within the second and two-run single within the third by Cameron Martin, RBI single by Ashlyn Steen in the fourth, and RBI groundout by Megan Heidelbauer within the fifth gave Simpson a 5-0 lead.

North Park’s Maya Lafnear and Loras’s Laurissa Klapatauska traded scoreless innings all the way to the fifth. Kathryn Keehn doubled to left area and was joined on base after Eden Baker dropped down a bunt single. Next, after Baker swiped second, Isa Santos loaded the bases with another bunt single. Now with two outs, Maddy Tan cracked another clutch hit with a bases-clearing double into right-center subject.

Loras got a couple back of their half of the fifth with an RBI groundout and RBI single but Lafnear shut the door after that, securing the complete-game win, 3-2.
