The West Kelowna Warriors will have a model new house for his or her away video games on the airwaves for the upcoming season.
In an announcement on Thursday morning (Aug. 18), the staff acknowledged that 13 of their 27 highway video games within the 2022-23 season will be broadcasted on AM 1150.
“AM 1150 is the flagship station for sports activities broadcasting within the Central Okanagan, and we’re thrilled to be part of it,” said Warriors President Chris Laurie. “This partnership will permit our fans higher access to our highway games and assist increase our footprint amongst local sports activities fans.”
The deal is the first-ever native radio partnership the Warriors have had.
“We’re very excited to deliver play-by-play of choose West Kelowna Warriors video games into the in depth sports activities schedule on AM 1150,” said Ken Kilcullen, Bell Media regional general supervisor. “Our team is impressed by the vitality, community involvement, and dedication to West Kelowna the Warriors bring along with an excellent fan experience in the rink. We hope to add to that with the publicity that our group of stations brings.
The deal additionally supports Bell’s other Kelowna stations 99.9 Virgin Radio and 101.5 Move Radio.
The first broadcast will be the season opener on Friday, September 23 towards the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Chase Johnston, the Warriors’ director of business development and communications shall be on the decision for each recreation.
